Condolence From: Madison Canestaro
Condolence: To Roberts family;
All of u were so lucky and blessed to have such an honorable man in your family. I can't express enough what a genuinely wonderful and caring person he was to all of his friends. We go back about 30 yrs. I remember hanging out in the park with Robbie and he would have his Hugh boa constrictor with him wrapped around his neck scaring the living heck out of me, lol. He knew how afraid I was of snakes so he made it a point to cure me of my fear. Indeed he did. We hung out a lot before his children were born. I never pictured him as a parent until I saw him with Cyrus when he came along. What a great dad he was. He loved that kid so much. I remember the race track store in old town. I spent a lot of time there with him. For yrs thereafter I would see that old time red phone booth across the street and always thought of him. Rob and I were thick as thieves for so long. We did play foos together however he was a close personal friend, not just a foos friend. Greg, Rob and I had a lot of great times back in the day. Thru out the yrs we always stayed friends as life moved forward for all of us. I remember when he was getting married to Sarah. Rob brought her to some foosball tournaments. It was at pinkies that I met her. I was so pleased Rob went off the beaten path and found her. I remember she was different from all of us foosers, she was polite yet strong and so pretty. Rob never fought it as he fell head over heals in love and then made her his wife. I didn't get the pleasure of meeting his daughter and youngest son but he talked about them all the time. It was amazing how he maintained being a great guy and staying involved with everything in his life and all his people. He talked about his mom's and had such a unique loving and knight of defensive way about them. He was animated and full of love when speaking about them. He wore his pride on his sleeve when talking about his family. In all the yrs I don't recall Robbie ever having any enemies or anyone that ever spoke poorly of him. Everyone always liked him and he was always popular in a very good and genuine way. Like people felt good around him. He was always very tentative to whoever he was holding a conversation with. I bent his ear on some long conversations many times and I would ask him.... u ok? U hanging with me or r u wishing I would shut up? He would just laugh and continue his eye contact and giving his full attention no matter the topic or length. Not a lot of men can hold their own with women the way Rob did. He wasn't that creep of a guy. He always prooved himself a loyal stand up friend. One u could trust. He's the kind of guy u could call in the middle of the night and would be there for u. He was also very much a guys guy. Super popular with all the guys. Everyone loved him and wanted to be his friend. He was a loyal type and I loved that about him. I trusted that about him. Sarah must have been one heck of a wife cuz never once was there any problem with Rob being my friend because I am female.I loved their solid relationship I loved her trust in him and I loved his loyalty to her. I know they eventually went their own ways but there was never any drama surrounding Rob during that time that I ever saw or heard. I think the 2 of them were always a class act. I loved the passion he had for all his kids and the pride he had when talking about them. Many yrs have passed and I love that Sarah was so great to me and all his friends during the hospital time keeping us updated and being so kind and thoughtful. Not to long before he passed he helped my mom out when she needed 4 new tires for her truck. Her licence plates read... CYLES. My dad Cy recently passed away and my mother leslie could not part with his truck so she got rid of her hummer and still drives his truck. I put her in touch with Rob because I knew he would be sensitive to the situation and would take care of her. And he did. She came home and said, ya know, your friend Rob is really a great guy. He was so kind and helpful and really made the time for her. It did not go unnoticed by her. And I knew he would be that way with her. Cuz he truley cared about people. I'm sure u saw my boyfriend at the funeral. His name is moose. Close friend of Robs. Just before Rob went into the hospital he was working on mooses car at his house and moose had told me that Rob said ..." ya know, me and Maddy go way back. We r really close friends. And he told him he was happy that we were together now after all these yrs." I was not able to go to Robs funeral because I had to be at an all day court ordered driving class. I was beside myself as it was so extremely important for me to be there at the funeral. I went to the courthouse and asked permission for an extention of one week so that I could attend the class the following Saturday. I was already under charges of contemptive court for missing the class when the dates got mixed up. An honest mistake however the judge was bent on not allowing me an extension. He said if I did not comply I would be going to jail. I have a little son that has down syndrom and if it wasn't for him and the need for me to be their with him everyday... I would have weighed the option of 90 days in jail to go to his funeral against my freedom and would have had a snap decision..... I look good in stripes! I was sick about it. Moose brought me some pictures from the funeral and allowed me to text him from the class during the funeral before and after as best he could. I actually yelled at the 30 people in the class to shut the "f" up so we may get out early because I was missing being at a funeral. Some guy says to me.... chill out. I turned and said.... well I'll just leave at, it wasn't g rated. To say the least, it was one of my worst days ever. I wanted so much to see all his wonderful family he spoke so highly of. My condolences are truly and sincerely with all of u and especially to his children. Your father was one of the greatest men I've ever known. He will be watching down from heaven on all of u and soon enough u will be together again. I've asked my dad Cy in heaven to look after him for me. He gladly will. If ever I can help with anything in any way it will be my honor. God bless all of you.

Sincerely, Madison
