Life Story for Linda Duchrow

Linda L. Duchrow
1947-2018

Linda Lee Duchrow was given life by her Creator and was born on February 15, 1947 in Lincoln, Illinois, the child of Wilbur and Katherine (nee Marten) Bock. In accordance with their Lord’s command, Linda’s loving parents brought her to the waters of Holy Baptism on February 26 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lincoln. She was thus united by faith with her Savior, Jesus Christ, and was given new spiritual birth and everlasting life by grace.

After her family’s move from Illinois to Colorado, Linda continued growing in her faith as she attended Redeemer Lutheran Church and parochial school in Denver. On March 26, 1961 Linda was confirmed at Redeemer, and rejoiced to partake of the precious Body and Blood of Jesus in His Holy Supper.

Linda graduated from Denver Lutheran High School in 1965. In 1970 God blessed Linda with a Christian husband, joining Linda and Karl Duchrow in holy matrimony on January 2—also at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Denver.

Linda received the Bachelor of Arts degree in geology on August 14th, 1976 (being part of the Centennial Year Commencement). She became a Certified Petroleum Geologist in 1989, earned the Master of Arts degree in Mathematics in 1990, and on May 13th, 1994 was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in mathematics. Linda faithfully utilized the intellectual gifts her Maker bestowed upon her through a long career that included teaching mathematics at Regis University in Denver. She also used her gifts in service to her church, blessing especially Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church and School in Broomfield as an able and dependable financial bookkeeper.

Strengthened by Christ’s gifts of forgiveness and salvation which Linda received in Word and Sacrament, Linda lived her life in faith as a redeemed child of God, under the cross of Christ and in the power of His resurrection. Guided and equipped by the Holy Spirit, Linda served her neighbor at home, at work, at church and in the community. With her husband Karl she provided a safe and loving home to Karl’s brother Paul since 2004.

On July 4, 2018, the Lord Jesus called His faithful servant Linda into the joys of eternal life in heaven. She is survived by her husband Karl, her sisters Alice Bown and Jane Repka, her brothers-in-law Mark Duchrow and Paul Duchrow, and numerous nephews and nieces including Dale Ball, Brad Ball, Russ Ball, Kelly Clark, Kenny Bown, Mary Ray, and Bill Bown.
